Evelyn’s smile, while hardly rare, has tended to be somewhat elusive when it comes to photographs. As some of the recent posts show, we’ve been able to capture a couple of good ones recently. Here are a few of the pictures we took while we were trying to document the smile. It’s important to remember that she was happy when all of these were taken.

New York Trip
Despite the worst the airlines could throw at her, Evelyn remained happy and cheerful for her trip to meet her great-grandmother:
She earned herself a new nickname from Mom: Steady Evvie.
The visit, while cut short somewhat by the delays, was a success. Evelyn and her great-grandmother were very happy to meet each other.
Evelyn also enjoyed George’s funny faces and stories about his Greek cousins.
Kimono
Today Evelyn and Dad spent a while palling around. She sure did look cute in the little kimono top from Sarah D:
Thanks, Sarah!
Baptism
On Saturday, Evelyn was baptised. She received a very touching gift in honor of the occasion: her great-grandmother Evelyn’s confirmation bible. It was a peaceful, pleasant ceremony, with a nice celebration dinner afterwards. Everyone felt very much bathed in love.
2 Months Old
Evelyn turned two months old on Thursday (nine weeks on Saturday). On Friday, she got her first round of vaccinations – three shots and a dropper-full of medicine. She wasn’t exactly pleased about it, but was very brave; her dad had been at pains to explain the importance of herd immunity. By getting vaccinated, Evelyn isn’t just keeping herself healthy – she’s helping lots of other little boys and girls.
There were also the requisite measurements, which were extremely gratifying:
(beer bottle for scale)
Evelyn is 12.5 pounds (88th percentile) and 24.5 inches (98th percentile), and in clinical terms, cute as a button. Nice growth, kiddo! Maybe by the next visit we can have you trained to smile for the camera.
