When Evelyn started daycare back in the summer, her teachers put a sign on the door of her room to welcome her. They gave us the sign, and it now graces the door to Evelyn’s bedroom. Lately, she has begun insisting that whenever she leaves her room, whoever is carrying her must pause so that she can admire her sign.
The sign makes Evelyn very happy.
On Christmas morning, it was snowy but fairly warm, so Evelyn and Dad went for a walk together.
Evelyn had a pretty good time on the walk, but what really got her excited was the presents. Specifically, the ribbon!
Mom enjoyed the matching outfits.
On Saturday, Evelyn got her Christmas on big-time. First was breakfast with Santa at the neighborhood park. Evelyn was a little hesitant at first – she had never seen a beard up close – but then she was pretty thrilled about the whole thing. And after nap time, it was time to pick out a Christmas tree!
On Friday, Grandma Joleen and Grandpa Bruce came with Mom to take Evelyn to the Macy’s Christmas display. Evelyn had a great time:

But this giant bear that Grandpa Bruce found sure was impressive!
It’s been a while, but we did promise updates would be sporadic…
At Thanksgiving, Evelyn participated in the family tradition and went to the Bryant Lake Bowl to see friends. Her Thanksgiving dinner consisted primarily of oat cereal.
I know what it looks like, but this is a happy face, not a terrified face.

In the afternoon, Evelyn hung out with Grandpa Bruce and Fiona. When Fiona headed out trick-or-treating, it was about time for Evelyn to head to bed.
